This beer is traditional to the stout-style, while not as dry or charred in flavor as some, it is also not as pronounced in the caramel-chocolate flavor as others. The aroma is all black malt and roasted barley, the bitterness is a combination of roasted malts and hops. Alcohol is moderate and there is only the slightest hint of espresso-like sweetness.
